Bread making has long been a tradition in our family. My grandmother and great aunt made the most scrumptious bread when we would visit. They always had one in the parlour ready for our hungry tummies. I may have been a wee one but I had a superb appetite for polishing off half a loaf of soda bread. We always had my mum’s amazing homemade loaf to come home to every day after school. Always different and served with a steaming hot bowl of homemade soup. Best mum in town

Ballymaloe Inspired Muffins
This weekend brings about my very first road trip in Australia. Having been here for 7 months, we haven’t gotten much of a chance to do any traveling with work and the price of flights out of Perth is astonishing. So, with the South West Craft Beer Festival taking place in Margaret River this weekend, myself and Mr. T and Jacqui from Where The Wind Blows Her and her beau are high tailing it down south for a couple of days.

Goji Berry and Spelt Blondies
Blondies have become a popular treat in the kitchen around our place. I bake a batch and within minutes they have been devoured. The culprit is usually a certain boy with shifty eyes and crumbs around his mouth sitting in the corner. These blondies are extra special because they have an extra special ingredient in them goji berries. I love goji berries. They are jam packed full of goodness and make any baked taste that extra bit special. Especially with the burnt butter, oh I could eat pots of that stuff.
